Technology in the Classroom

Many students today live in technology-infused worlds. By using technology to deliver content and assess instructional delivery, teachers can meet those students on “their own turf”. Although it would be a mistake to assume that all students have a natural proclivity for technology, and teachers should be prepared to provide support if they ask their students to use technology for assessment or in less-formal instructional activities, all students will benefit from exposure to technology-based resources.

This site aims to provide educators with ideas for implementing technology in their classrooms. The site is divided into four sections: online resources, presentation hardware and software, technology-based student projects and research that supports the use of technology in the classroom. The first three sections provide information that will help teachers understand what kinds of resources are available to them and gives details about how to effectively use those resources, while the research section provides an annotated bibliography of research currently available as well as additional links that may be useful for educators while planning technology-based lessons or assessments.
